Resident Consultant on the design, and implementation of improved accounting and management information procedures for a major newspaper and industrial group – reputed to be the biggest in black Africa.
Involved in a World Bank financed project for the re-organisation of the entire accounting and operational systems of the Water Corporation of one of the regions of Nigeria. The systems designed were aimed at World Bank reporting standards for loan management for public utility sub-sector of third world countries.
Design of management accounting/computer systems for companies in furniture, ceramic, paint and estate development, in addition to involvement with top executives selection assignments and clients’ personnel training and development
Provision of linkage between a consumer products company and consultants/contractors in the construction of the Head Office/Warehouse complex of the company which cost approximately £4 million in 1980.
Supervision of the factory operations following the commencement of production at a consumer products company in 1980.
Managed the Acquisition of a rubber plantation previously owned by an international consumer goods company at a cost of around £3 million in 1990. The acquisition was aimed at providing all the natural rubber requirements of a tyre production company and involved the sourcing for funds, negotiation and integration of the new company as part of the Tyre Production Group in Nigeria.
Managed the acquisition of majority interest in a consumer products company.
Served as a member of the Nigerian Government Vision 2010 Committee set up to fashion a vision for the country up to the year 2010. Served as the co-ordinating rapporteur for two key sub-committees:a. Good and Stable Governance Sub- committee involved with recommending a type of Government that will ensure political and economic stability. b. Privatisation Sub-committee that recommended the procedure for privatisation of key Government businesses in the power, telecommunication and oil sectors. Most of the committee’s recommendations were subsequently adopted as Government’s policy and spelt out in the 1998 Federal Government Budget pronouncements.
